For the first time, Switzerland will host an AJGA Performance-Based Entry (PBE) event, marking a significant milestone for junior golf in the Alps region. The tournament will be held at the prestigious Golf & Country Club de Bonmont in Chéserex — a stunning 18-hole parkland course overlooking Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc, just 35 minutes from Geneva Airport. Played over 36 holes of stroke play, the event will feature separate Boys and Girls divisions competing from 6,878 and 6,308 yards respectively, offering a championship-level test on one of Switzerland's most celebrated courses. Through the AJGA's International Pathway Series (IPS), this event gives junior golfers aged 12–19 the chance to earn PBE Status — the gold standard of American junior golf qualification — which can open the door to official AJGA tournaments in the United States and exposure to U.S. college golf coaches.
Until now, junior golfers in Switzerland and neighboring Alpine countries have had limited access to internationally recognized competitive pathways without traveling far from home. While organizations like Swiss Golf and the Austrian Golf Federation run strong domestic junior tours, the gap between regional competition and the global stage has remained wide. This event changes that equation. Swiss and Italian passport holders will receive priority entry on a first-come, first-served basis, while international players may apply for an invitation, ensuring a strong and diverse field. For talented juniors across the region — from Zurich to Milan, Geneva to Innsbruck — this represents a rare opportunity to compete in a world-class event on home soil and build a competitive résumé that carries weight with U.S. collegiate programs.
The choice of Bonmont as the host venue is fitting. Designed by Don Harradine in 1983 and refined by his son Peter in 2002, the course sits within a 62-hectare estate surrounding a 12th-century Cistercian abbey — a setting that blends sporting challenge with unmistakable character. With the Château de Bonmont offering on-site accommodation and Geneva's international connectivity just minutes away, the event is well-positioned to attract a strong field and establish itself as a fixture on the junior golf calendar. For the Alps region, this is more than a tournament — it's a gateway.
